WHAT IS SEPTOLETE PLUS AND WHAT IS USED FOR?
Septolete plus sucking tablets have a local analgesic and antimicrobial action. So they disinfect the oral cavity and throat and relieve the pain there. The sucking tablets contain the antiseptic cetylpyridine chloride that destroys some bacteria and fungi and also somewhat inhibits the development of viruses. In this way, it soothes the inflamed mouth and pharynx and, above all, prevents the development of more severe bacterial infections. Because it can be easily moistened and has less surface resistance, cetylpyridinium chloride penetrates into the hard-to-reach parts of the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat where it suppresses bacterial growth.
Benzocaine is a local anesthetic suitable for relieving pain when swallowing, which often accompanies infections and inflammation of the mouth and throat.
Sugar Tablets Septolete plus contain the polyols maltitol and mannitol. They do not contain sugar that is necessary for bacterial growth. Septolete plus sucking tablets are suitable for diabetics, they do not cause dental plaque, and their antiseptic effect is much better due to the lack of sugar in them.

Septolete plus sucking tablets are recommended for pain relief and disinfection:

in mild oral and throat infections (pharyngitis, laryngitis, onset of angina (a very painful throat));
inflammation of the gums and mucous membranes of the mouth (gingivitis, stomatitis).

2. BEFORE YOU TAKE SEPTOLETE PLUS
You should not use the Septolete plus:

if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to benzocaine, cetylpyridine chloride or to any of the other ingredients of Septolete plus.
Pay special attention to Septolete plus

If you have an open wound in the mouth as cetylpyridine chloride slows the healing of the wounds;
If you have a more severe infection accompanied by fever, headache and vomiting, you should consult your doctor, especially if your symptoms do not improve after 3 days;
If you are a diabetic patient, you should know that each suckling tablet contains 1 g of maltitol. Due to delayed hydrolysis and absorption in the gastrointestinal tract, maltitol has little effect on blood glucose levels.
Septolete plus sucking tablets are not recommended for children under the age of 6 years.
Doses higher than those prescribed are not recommended.

Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Septolete plus is not known to affect the effects of other medicines.

Take the Septolete plus with food and drink
You should not take the Septolete plus suckle pill just before meals or with fresh milk.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine.
As safety data on pregnancy and lactation are limited, it is not recommended to take Septolete plus during pregnancy and lactation.

Effects on ability to drive and use machines
It is not reported that Septolete plus tablets affect the ability to drive and use machines.

Important information about some of the excipients of Septolete plus
Septolete plus lozenges contain maltitol. If you have an intolerance to some sugars, tell your doctor about it.

3. HOW TO ACCEPT SEPTOLETE PLUS
Always take Septolete plus exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dosage for adults and children over 12 years is up to 8 tablets per day. You need to suck 1 tablet every 2 to 3 hours.
For children from 6 to 12 years of age, up to 4 tablets per day are recommended.
These children should take 1 tablet every 4 hours.

If you take more Septolete plus than you need
Considering the amount of active ingredients in a sucking tablet, the possibility of overdosing is minimal. Swallowing a large number of sucking tablets can cause gastrointestinal problems: nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In such cases, you should stop taking the medicine, drink plenty of water or fresh milk and consult your doctor or pharmacist.

If you forget to take Septolete plus
Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like other medicines, Septolete plus may also cause side effects, although not all of them can manifest them.
If Septolete plus tablets are used as prescribed, side effects are rare. In sensitive people, higher than the prescribed doses may cause gastrointestinal disorders due to irritation of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract
If you notice any side effects, even if not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
