Decapeptyl 0.1 mg solution for injection 0.1 mg / ml
The active substance is triptorelin acetate 0.1 mg / ml
The excipients are sodium chloride, acetic acid and water for injections

WHAT IS DEPECEPTILE AND WHAT IS USED FOR?
Decapeptyl and as a subcutaneous injection solution.
The medicine is available in pre-filled syringes of 1 ml

Tryptorelin is a synthetic analogue of the natural hormone gonadorelin. It is a hormone with a protein structure that stimulates the pituitary gland.
Like gonadorelin, Decappeptyl works at the pituitary gland level. Under the action of the drug, the pituitary stops reporting gender sex hormone testosterone secretion in men and estrogen in women. As a result, the amount of these hormones in the blood decreases. When applied along with hormonal stimulation in assisted reproductive technologies, Decappetil protects the pituitary gland from premature release of the hormone LH (luteinizing hormone) that stimulates ovulation.

Decapeptyl can be used to:
- treatment of certain forms of prostate cancer with metastases.
- before or during the use of assisted reproductive techniques that use hormonal stimulation.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE USING DEPECAPTIL
Do not use Decapeptyl if:
- are allergic to tryptorelin or any of the excipients of Decaptil
In Men:
- if you have a tumor that does not respond to hormonal effects because Decapeptyl works by hormones
- After surgical removal of the gonads, as you will not respond to the therapy.

For women:
- if you are pregnant or breast-feeding

PREGNANCY:
Consult with your doctor before taking any medicine. There is insufficient data to evaluate the potential effects of Decaptil in pregnancy. Therefore, before starting treatment, you must be sure that you are not pregnant.

BREAST:
Check with your doctor before taking any medicine. There is insufficient data to evaluate the potential effects of Decaptil in breastfeeding. Decapeptyl can therefore not be used during breast-feeding and must be discontinued prior to initiation of therapy.

DRIVING AND WORKING WITH MACHINES:
There is no evidence that Decapeptyl has an effect on the ability to drive and use machines.

HOW TO USE DEACEPTIPLE?
Decapeptil may be administered only from or according to the instructions of a physician experienced in the field of said indications.

In Men:
Generally, one syringe with 1 ml of Decapeptyl 0.5 mg solution for injection is given during the first 7 days of treatment, then the treatment is continued with one syringe of 1 ml Decapeptyl 0.1 mg.

The duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease.

For women:
One syringe Decapeptyl 0.1 ml daily, from the second day of the menstrual cycle. It is also possible to start on the 21st day of the cycle. In general, treatment continues until the day the ova grows enough, and by injecting a drug containing HCG, the final maturation of the ova will be realized.
Consult your doctor if you notice that the effect of Decapeptyl is too strong or too weak.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Decapeptyl can cause side effects.

General:
There may be pain at the injection site.

In Men:
The following side effects may occur fairly frequently: redness, sweating, decreased sexual sensitivity or impotence. Feeling of chest pain and tightness, increase in blood pressure and decreased testicular size have been reported less frequently.
During the first week of treatment, complaints such as bone pain and difficulty urinating may be temporarily exacerbated. Changed leg sensitivity may also occur temporarily.
For women:
Hot waves, mood swings, headaches, fatigue occur. Rash and itching often occur. The following side effects are rare: nausea, stomach complaints, dizziness, soreness, or chest sensitivity.
When treatment begins on the 21st day of the cycle preceding the cycle through which oocyte maturation will be stimulated, normal menstrual bleeding is almost always present. In some cases, there may be only slight bleeding.
The risk of excessive ovarian stimulation may be somewhat greater when Decapeptil is used in combination with gonadotrophin-containing drugs in assisted reproductive techniques. Symptoms of excessive stimulation are described in the package leaflets of gonadotropin-containing medicines. Bubbles (cysts) can be formed in the ovaries at the start of treatment.
