What Kostarox is and what it is used for

What is Kostarox
•Kostarox  contains the active substance etoricoxib. Cistarox is a medicine from a group of medicines called selective COX-2 inhibitors. They belong to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

What is it used for?
•Kostarox   helps to reduce the pain and edema (inflammation) in the joints and muscles in people over 16 years of age for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and gout.
• Cistarox is also used for short-term treatment of moderate pain after dental surgery in people over 16 years of age.

What is osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is a disease of the joints. It occurs as a result of the continuous degradation of the cartilage that covers the ends of the bones. This causes swelling (inflammation), pain, tenderness, stiffness and immobilization.

What is rheumatoid arthritis?
Rheumatoid arthritis is a prolonged inflammatory disease of the joints. It causes pain, stiffness, swelling, and increased loss of movement in affected joints. It can also cause inflammation in other parts of the body.

What is Ankylosing Sondanitis?
Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory disease of the vertebrae and large joints.

What is gout?
Gout is a disease with sudden, recurrent attacks of severe pain and redness of the joints. It is caused by the deposition of mineral crystals in the joints.
