MAXITROL 5 ml.

MAXITROL (dexamethasone, neomycin sulfate, polymyxin B sulfate) is a topical antibacterial agent in combination with a corticosteroid. MAXITROL is a sterile product for reuse and is available in two dosage forms - drops and eye ointment. Used is a combination of two broad-spectrum antibiotic and potent corticosteroid. The combination of antibacterial activity of antibiotics with anti-inflammatory activity of the steroid component successfully affect certain microbial infections of the anterior segment.
WHAT MAXITROL? (Composition, dosage form, package)
Each milliliter of MAXITROL eye drops contain:
Drugs: Dexamethasone (1 mg), neomycin sulfate (3,500 IU), polymyxin B sulphate (6,000 International Units). Preservative benzalkonium chloride 0.004% .Pomoshtni substances: sodium chloride; polysorbate 20; hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; hydrochloric acid / sodium hydroxide (to achieve the required pH) and purified water. MAXITROL eye drops is supplied in plastic bottles of 5 ml.
Each gram of MAXITROL eye ointment contains: Active substance: dexamethasone (1 mg), neomycin sulfate (3,500 international units), polymyxin B sulfate (6,000 international units). Preservatives: methylparaben (0.05%); propyl paraben (0.1%). Excipients: white petrolatum, lanolin. MAXITROL eye ointment comes in tubes of 3.5 g.

WHEN SHOULD NOT BE USED MAXITROL? (Contraindications and precautions)
MAXITROL (drops and ointment) is contraindicated in herpes simplex corneal vaccination for smallpox, chickenpox and many other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva; in incomplete removal of a foreign body from the cornea. It not recommended in mycobacterial and fungal infections of the eyes. SPECIAL WARNING
• In severe infections, topical treatment should be accompanied by an appropriate systemic treatment.
