SARTEG HCT 160/25 mg. 30 tablets

What is Sarteg HCT is and what it is used
Sarteg HCT contains two active substances called valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Both drugs help control high blood pressure (hypertension)
Valsartan belongs to a class of medicines known as angiotensin II receptor antagonists, which help to control high blood pressure. Angiotensin II is a substance in the body that causes vessels to constrict and blood pressure as they grow. Valsartan blocks the effect of angiotensin II. As a result, blood vessels relax and blood pressure is lowered.
Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to a group of medicines called thiazide diuretics (also known as "water"). Hydrochlorothiazide increases urine output, which also lowers blood pressure.
Sarteg HCT is used to treat high blood pressure, which can not successfully be controlled by only one drug.

High blood pressure increases the work of the heart and arteries. If left untreated, it can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart and kidneys, causing stroke (stroke), heart failure or kidney failure. High blood pressure increases the risk of heart attack. Lowering blood pressure can reduce the risk of these injuries.
